The pictures shown below are examples of the style of shoes that ASD
prefers.  Everyone's feet are different so we do not require a certain
brand.  However we do ask that everyone does have the same color.
Creative Movement- Pink Ballet slippers, any colored leotard and tights.  Please do not allow the
students to wear dress up costumes.  Dress up attire is saved for special days in dance class!

shoe comes with ribbons which will be replaced during class with elastic.)  Any colored leotard and

Middle School –High School- Pink Split Sole Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes, and Black Hip Hop
Sneakers.  A leotard and tights is expected in all classes.  Fitted shirts and pants are allowed for Jazz/Hip
Hop and Tap.

We understand that everyone’s feet are different so we do not require certain brand shoes however we
do ask that everyone has the same color and the Ballet Slippers are Split Soles especially for the
dancers in the 4th-6th grade combo and older.

Students may be asked to purchase additional shoes for the end of the year performance.  ASD tries to
avoid this situation but in some occasions it is unavoidable.

If a student is not properly dressed for class they may be asked to sit out for that day.

All dancers should come ready to dance.  If all of the items listed below can be checked off then the
student is ready and prepared to participate in class.

o       Haired pulled off of the dancers face (pony tail, Bun etc.)

o
Dressed appropriately  (see above dress code)

o
Has all of their shoes with them in a bag designated just for their dance items.

o        All shoes should have the students name clearly labeled on the inside of their shoes.

o
Has taken off excessive jewelry and accessories that could be in the way of the student's
        class performance.

o       Has a water bottle with them for hydration.

If a student has a pair of shoes that still fit from the previous year of dance, they are welcome to wear
those shoes.  However if you are purchasing new shoes please follow our guidelines.
