Classes

                 Classes Offered

Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pointe, Technique &
                       Creative Movement.

Acrobatics - Innovative dance training that teaches strength, balance and
flexibility. Requires a great deal of technical awareness and athleticism.
Students are required to be sufficiently trained in the core basics of dance
movement. Students are also encouraged to have a strong jazz background.
This course will teach students the importance of discipline and
concentration and will build upon their strength, muscle control and overall
performance ability.

The Acro performance in the recital will showcase their athleticism and
flexibility. It will vary depending on how experienced the dancer is of course.
In class we'll work on everything from kicks, to splits to backbends... the basis
of acrobatics and gymnastics. And even some conditioning (sit ups, pushups,
nothing boot camp style but something to build up muscle!)  We will build from
there.

Ballet/Beginner Pointe- This class is for the student who wishes to improve
on their technique for Ballet and the general discipline of Dance.  The class
will focus on developing proper alignment, balance, strength, control and
precision in movement –
essential skills for all types of dance.  Class will
consist of exercises at the barre and stretching. Center work will focus on
body positions, jumps and turns.   We strongly suggest to all of our older
dancers participation in this class.
We are inviting those with previous Pointe experience to join the class.
Students on Pointe will follow the regular Ballet lesson but are able to
practice at a more challenging level. Those who are brand new to Pointe, who
have a solid background of dance and at least 5 years experience in ballet
are invited to join this class as well. We recommend those new to Pointe to
not buy Pointe shoes immediately, as the instructor will evaluate each student
during the first few classes and determine if they are ready to move onto the
next step.

Creative Movement - offered to preschool age children.  This 35 minute
class offers a fun and exciting introduction to Ballet and the setting of a
dance class while developing motor skills, rhythm, and confidence. All
students must be potty trained.

Jazz (9th - 12 grade)
This class will focus on technique, strength and rhythmic body
movement. Dancers will work on improving flexibility and coordination.
The class will generally be fast paced, learning combinations and
practicing leaps and turns down the room. This class is offered to
students in 9th to 12th grade. The routine learned in this class will also
be the opening number in this year's recital.

A Tap and Ballet 1 hour combination class is offered to
children from grades K- 1.

Students in grade 1 are eligible to take a 1 1/2 hour
combination class which includes
Ballet, Tap and an
introduction to Jazz.

From grades 2nd - 6th a combination class of 2 hours is

Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are
great because of their passion.
